Why remotes stop working — and how to get them back online in under five minutes.

Garage Door Remote Troubleshooting Naples

Nine times out of ten, a dead remote is a dead battery. Here's the diagnostic order to go through before calling a pro.

Step 1: Battery

Swap the battery for a fresh one. If the LED on the remote lights up brightly, you may be back in business.

Step 2: Pair to the opener

Press the 'learn' button on the opener, then press the remote button within 30 seconds.

Step 3: Check the antenna

A snapped or coiled-up antenna wire dramatically shortens range. It should hang straight down.

Step 4: Interference

LED garage lights can cause interference. Try turning them off.
