Before you assume the worst, run through this five-minute checklist. About half the calls we take turn out to be one of these fixes.
1. Check the wall lock switch
Most wall consoles have a 'vacation lock' toggle that disables remotes. It's easy to bump on.
2. Change the remote battery
A weak battery causes intermittent response. Swap in a fresh CR2032 or A23.
3. Look for sensor lights
Both photo-eye LEDs should be on solid. A blinking or dark LED means alignment or wiring.
4. Listen for the opener motor
If the motor runs but the door doesn't move, the trolley may have disconnected — reconnect with the red cord.
5. Check for broken spring
A visible 2-inch gap in the coil means the spring is broken. Stop using the door and call us.
